In Bunyangabu District, Uganda, Turi Kumwe Development Foundation advances regenerative agriculture and sustainable food systems as a pathway to inclusive rural economic growth. Our integrated model combines climate-smart production, youth enterprise development, and inclusive market systems strengthening across high-potential value chains — including Hass avocado, maize, beans, vegetables, and climate-resilient crops.
Our work directly contributes to SDG 1 (No Poverty) by increasing household incomes; SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by strengthening resilient local food systems; SDG 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth) through youth-led agribusiness and dignified employment; SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption & Production) through sustainable land management; and SDG 13 (Climate Action) through regenerative and climate-adaptive farming systems.
We restore soil health through regenerative practices, promote climate-resilient seed varieties, and integrate agroforestry systems — including bamboo and avocado — to enhance biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and diversified incomes. At the same time, we equip youth and women with agripreneurship skills, enterprise incubation, and financial literacy to transition from subsistence production to competitive market participation.
By strengthening farmer aggregation, structured maize and bean marketing systems, export-oriented Hass avocado
production, vegetable production hubs, and digital market access, we build scalable, community-driven models that
deliver measurable economic, social, and environmental impact.
TDF offers an investment-ready platform for partners seeking sustainable, locally anchored solutions that advance
regenerative agriculture, climate resilience, and inclusive economic transformation in Uganda.
